On September 11, HUD published its list of 2018 qualified census tracts (QCTs) and difficult development areas (DDAs). These areas are significant to the Housing Credit Program as they are eligible for as much as a 30% boost in eligible basis which can significantly increase the credit allocation award.
These 2018 areas are effective for allocations of LIHTCs beginning January 1, 2018 and for bond-financed properties for properties where the bonds are issued and the building is placed in service beginning January 1, 2018.
