8823 Guide Released!

At long last... the wait is over! 

Last week the IRS issued an updated version of the 8823 Guide... more formally called the "Guide for Completing Form 8823: Low-Income Housing Credit Agencies Report of Noncompliance or Building Disposition". 

This Guide's goal is to provide consistent interpretation and application of the Housing Credit Program requirements among states as well as consistent report of noncompliance to the IRS by providing standardized operational definitions for the noncompliance categories listed on Form 8823.

I am in the midst of reviewing the Guide, discussing it with the IRS, selected State Agencies and other industry experts. If you are part of our Industry Information Network (see form below), you will receive my comments on the Guide shortly.
