On February 20, HUD released PIH-2019-02/H-2019-04 reducing the number of days REAC inspectors will send out their notification before conducting physical inspections of public housing and private HUD-assisted multifamily housing. The previous 120-day notification timeline was reduced by 14 days with the intent of reducing the lead time PHA staff and private owners/agents of HUD-assisted properties use to make cosmetic repairs in order to secure a passing physical inspection score. The notice applies to all properties subject to REAC’s UPCS.
